Year 5 of the reign of the Magic Kenyan

With apologies to Perry Como, Connie Smith,

Candy Pruett, Jason Bolt, Lottie, Clancy,

Biddie Cloom, and Bobby Sherman,

I reworked one of America’s finest TV songs

to reflect reality in Year 5 of the reign of the Magic Kenyan:

The lavender skies you’ll ever see are in Seattle

Dope smoke rises above the trees in Seattle

Like soul-damaged kids

Free to scramble their ids

Full of laughter full of tears

As the sadists whip the queers

Dykes puff reefers and belch their beers

In Seattle.

The lavender skies you’ll ever see are in Seattle

Misfits stampede the women and rape the cattle

Adam is atop Steve

And Ellen’s doing Eve

Beavers are free as the breeze

To gnaw each other not the trees

Kennedy spawn hit trees on skis

In Seattle.

Kevin Sherlock

PS. RIP, Stormin’ Norman. You were the anti-Betrayus and the anti-

Kristy McChrystal.
