This time the radical is in the Department of Labor and her name is Dolores Huerta. She is a legend in the labor movement, has praised Hugo Chavez and Cuba, and has even said Republicans “hate Latinos” to an audience of school children. 8/28 Restoring Honor Rally – Be a Part of History

Can you believe that 828 is only days away? Here are a few tips to help you prepare for this historic event.

• Register your bus:  It’s free and will provide an estimate of how many services are needed at the rally. Register HERE
• Need a Ride? If you are still looking for seats on a bus please visit our BUS MAP to find a bus departing from your hometown that STILL has availability.
• Parking: Please note that for safety reasons, US Park Police and DC Metropolitan Police will not permit buses to drop anywhere downtown with the exception of RFK Stadium and Union Station.
• The DC Metro is your friend: Familiarize yourself with the Washington Metro. If you are coming to the rally, you will probably need to take the Metro at some point. The closest Metro station to the event is Smithsonian on the Orange and Blue Lines. The walking distance from the Smithsonian Metro Station to the event site is almost one mile. You can also take Metrorail to Foggy Bottom-GWU, Farragut West, Metro Center and Federal Triangle stations, all on the Orange and Blue lines, and Metro Center on the Red Line. Visit the Washington Area Metro Transit Authority site to find locations for all the stations adjacent to the National Mall and to plan your trip. (All metro stations are ADA accessible. The National Mall and event site are also accessible to wheelchairs.)
• Be there: Remember, the rally will start at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 1p.m. Please take this into consideration when making your travel plans.

It’s fairly common knowledge that the media is wildly liberal, but according to a new report from The Daily Caller it looks like things are much, much worse than even previously thought. Obama’s assassination list?

A story that somehow slipped Glenn’s radar screen – the President (according to the oh-so conservative Salon.com) has a “presidential assassination program,” where “American citizens are targeted for killings far away from any battlefield, based exclusively on unchecked accusations by the Executive Branch that they’re involved in Terrorism.” This is particularly baffling coming from Obama, who complained about listening in on phone calls to terrorists. Another ‘faith’ group is attacking Glenn – and in an odd coincidence this faith group has a mission statement that talks more about Obama’s goals than the gospel. The entire reason Obamacare passed was because he promised that abortions would not be federally funded. Black panthers respond to “kill cracker babies” comment

The response is not positive. Out of all the frightening ‘kill crackers’ and kill cracker babies comments, the main problem Panthers’ leadership had is that a black man was publicly berated in the process. As for the killing of white babies, they are willing to stipulate that ‘in this context’ they disagree with the killing of babies. Well, in what context is killing babies ok? Obama: Individual salvation depends on collective salvation

It’s a phrase he’s mentioned a few times, but could explain much of why the President is jamming a Marxist agenda down the throats of Americans. Hello America,

You know me…you know the drill.  It’s the 4th of July, so of course you can expect a special email from old Glenn, one where I quote Thomas Jefferson and maybe make fun of myself for eating my weight in hot dogs.  Not this year.  It’s true—for me, July 4th is much more than just a day for backyard barbeques and firework displays, and I know it’s the same for you.  We celebrate and cherish America’s independence all the time—we don’t need a special occasion to fly the flag or honor those who serve.  So this year, I want to simply wish you and your family a happy 4th of July and leave you with one idea to think about.

Most of us think of the 4th of July as the day when we declared our independence from England and began building the greatest nation the world has ever known.  And while it’s true, that notion feels very much like the end of something…British rule, oppression, being subjects to a king instead of to one another.  But when you stop and think about it, the 4th of July wasn’t an ending at all—it was just the beginning.

While we declared our Independence on July 4th, 1776, we had to keep fighting to defend that declaration until 1783, over seven years of bloody struggle and ultimate sacrifice.  And while those who fought in the Revolutionary War knew what they were dying to protect, “we the people” didn’t adopt our Constitution until 1787, more than 11 years after those 56 men gathered in a room and signed their name to a piece of parchment that said there’s a better way for men and women to live:

In freedom.

The second sentence of the Declaration of Independence reads:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

The fight to live up to those 36 words continues to this day, as an ever expanding government is threatening to suppress the very freedoms our founders fought for. And while July 4th, 1776 was a major victory, let the date serve not merely as a day to remember how it all started – but also that freedom is fragile and vigilance is needed to preserve and protect it. Each and every one of us is responsible to make sure that freedom doesn’t vanish on our watch. This 4th of July, think about what the founders risked to make sure they and future generations lived free – their lives, the fortunes, and their sacred honor. And ask yourself, are you willing to do the same?

A 23 year old Brit soldier, Lance Corporal Adam Smith, was on his very first foot patrol in Afghanistan when he was struck in the head by enemy fire. Not good: Unemployment 9.5%

Obama’s ‘summer of recovery’ denial tour continues, and while he touts success the economy continues to suffer shedding another 125,000 jobs last month. Perhaps the President should be featured on A&E’s show “Intervention” as he clearly is not dealing in reality. Pelosi: Unemployment checks create jobs

Apparently 2 years of unemployment checks aren’t good enough for Democrats, they’d like to keep people dependent on government forever as they are pushing a new bill to extend benefits. In desperation, Pelosi tried to plead her case on the extension and pathetically argued that unemployment checks are the fastest way to create jobs. Perhaps dementia is settling in, or perhaps she’s just too brilliant for us mere mortals to understand her logic. But even more disturbing is the Republican quoted in the article, who bashes Pelosi while at the same time saying the GOP is for ‘extending unemployment benefits’ – a bizarre position for a conservative that can only be explained by The Overton Window theory. Ed Smith knows how to operate a calculator

Congratulations to Ed Smith, Alderman of the 28th Ward in Chicago, for demonstrating his newfound ability to operate a calculator. In a completely pointless exercise meant to demonize the wealthy, Smith demonstrated to City Council that the CEO of the largest company in the world ($258 billion sales revenue last year) makes significantly more money than its greeters. Someone at the White House left Joe Biden unattended, and he managed to escape long enough to commit another patented Biden gaffe. After seeing the promo trailer for Glenn’s new book The Overton Window (Time.com called it “one of the most epic book trailers of all time”), The Huffington Post quickly mocked it, and the hilarious Glenn jokes from progressives began to fly. We found that weird because progressives and liberals are supposed to be so intellectual and such big fans of art.  Apparently when it comes from Glenn Beck, it’s not art – it’s crazy. BUT – if The Huffington Post made the oh-so difficult effort to ‘google’ the poem, they may have been able to avoid making complete fools of themselves.  Fortunately for us, they didn’t, so Glenn happily took the opportunity to mock the hapless Huffpo writer and commenters. This joke of an organization claims to be out there working to make the Internet neutral or something, and now they are making headlines with their push to regulate ‘hate speech’ on talk radio and the Internet. Guess what these guys view as hate speech? Conservatives! That’s right, the founders of this group are all (shocker) anti-capitalist Marxists out to destroy capitalism ‘brick by brick’. Throughout the year, there are plenty of holidays you might like to celebrate more than once.  Kids would probably like a couple extra days of Christmas presents and Halloween candy…two Valentine’s Days for your wife…and I would give plenty of thanks for an extra day of pie, turkey, stuffing and…well, more pie.  But more than any of those, the one day I say deserves as much repeating, reverence and recognition as it can get is today—Memorial Day.  Unlike most holidays, the sentiment behind Memorial Day isn’t abstract—it’s as concrete and immediate as today’s headlines.

Officially speaking, Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. men and women who died while in the military service.  Now, you don’t need a history lesson to understand the sacrifice made by those who wear an American flag on their arm and put themselves in harm’s way—just watch tonight’s news.

We didn’t start celebrating Memorial Day until after the Civil War, but it was during that conflict, November of 1863, that President Abraham Lincoln gave his historic Gettysburg Address and eloquently laid out the simple yet profound idea that lies at the heart of this day:

It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us – that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion – that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain – that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom – and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

“The last full measure of devotion”—a beautiful phrase describing a tragic consequence.  And while the fight has moved from within our own country to conflicts overseas, the giving of your life in service to your country remains a uniquely sacred act.  American soldiers are fighting and dying in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the sad reality is those are not the last two wars that will ever need fighting.  On this Memorial Day and all the days before and after it, we must remember those in our military who bravely served and never made it home.

As a way of keeping the spirit of Memorial Day alive the whole year through, I hope you’ll join me for my Restoring Honor Rally at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. on August 28, 2010.  For this event I’ve partnered with the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides immediate financial assistance to severely wounded special operations personnel and their families, as well as full scholarship grants and family counseling to the surviving children of special operations personnel who die in operational or training missions.  You can find out more about their incredible work HERE and more about the Restoring Honor Rally HERE.

Just as we aren’t just Christians on Christmas or patriots on the 4th of July, we owe more to the fallen than just remembering them on Memorial Day.  Let today mark the beginning of your year-round remembrance, and never forget that the price of living free to celebrate this day with your family was paid by those who wore a uniform, carried a gun, and gave “the last full measure of their devotion.”

Apparently Democrats think Mexico is the land of milk and honey because they gave Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon a standing ovation (on the House floor, no less) when he bashed Arizona’s immigration ‘lo’ as he called it. Wolf Blitzer recently interviewed Calderon and grilled him on what he does with illegal immigrants. The answers sound eerily similar to that of — Arizona’s laws! Congressman Anthony Weiner attacked Glenn and Goldline, but the attack is causing severe Weiner backlash. Obama disses press again

During the joint press conference with President Calderon only one question was allowed from ‘American’ press, and the President chose the most American of outlets: Univision. Shockingly, they decided to ask him about the Arizona immigration law, and the President happily took that softball and knocked America around a little bit again. Kid tells Michelle Obama ‘my mom has no papers’

Many are wondering if this debacle of a scene with the First Lady the other day was a setup. She was talking to some young school children when a child starts saying that her mom tells her Barack Obama is sending everyone without papers back to their own country. Then Obama’s advisor Jim Wallis boycotted Glenn (Grassroots, eh?). Glenn Beck May 14, 2010 On Today’s Program 9/11 mosque The World Trade Center Towers have not yet been re-built, but there is one building right across from ground zero that’s on schedule to open soon: it’s a mosque. Hey if you want to build a mosque there, whatevs, go for it – but what has people really upset is that the dedication date is set for (you guessed it) 9/11/11. We have American kids getting tossed out of school for wearing American flag shirts on Cinco de Mayo (a Mexican beer holiday) because they were being insensitive. But it’s totally cool to open a mosque right across the street from ground zero on 9/11? Glenn has this story and Eric Holder audio as he continues his streak of idiotic comments. Horowitz schools radical Muslim student Glenn played the amazing audio of David Horowitz, who was taking questions from an audience when a radical tried to engage him in a debate.
